The Body Shop Moringa Body Milk

Wednesday, 4 September 2013

In my last few posts I talked about my rekindled love of The Body Shop products, and it hasn't stopped. Last time I was in store just having a browse and of course I saw something I "had" to have and completely justified it to myself.

In the past when it's come to body lotions I've been quite lazy. My hands get messy, it takes ages to dry and that's why I have a stash of perfume scented body lotions sitting at the back of my cupboard that has came in Christmas gift sets.

So while browsing I came across this body milk spray...and thought "Oh a spray...that would make my life easier!" so in my basket it went. The last few months I've been good and going to the gyms in the mornings before work so I've been taking this with me to use after my shower. Time is of the essence for me in the morning....it's a constant struggle of getting enough sleep, yet having enough time for my works and swim AND making into work on time. If one doesn't happen I'm totally thrown off for most of the day!

Anyway, The Body Shop Body Milk is really easy to use,  just a quick few squirts all over then rub it in and I'm ready to go. The formula is non-greasy, light and soaks beautifully into the skin not to mention that it smells amazing. I'm literally done head to toe in minutes....now that's my kind of morning product!

If you're look for a light body moisturiser that's quick and easy to use I would recommend you try the Body Milk. It is also available in coconut, but living in a tourist area I chose not to smell like a tourist(!)

MAC Blush - Desert Rose

Tuesday, 24 July 2012

So a few weeks ago my other half was in the UK and I got a phone call "I'm in the MAC shop...what do you want?"....as sweet as this is, it sent me into a panic. The first thing that came to mind was a blush because I have 5 in my pro blush palette and have been waiting for ages for a 6th. "Eerrrr can I have a blusher please?"....."What colour the sales assistant is front of me"....I frantically went onto the website to find a shade I like, quickly googling swatches it was almost like I could hear a clock ticking.

So in the end I picked "Desert Rose"

Desert rose is a matte finish, dark rose powder blush.
It goes on smoothly and blends easily into the skin, it is also easy to build up it needed, but the colour is nicely pigmented already you probably won't need to.

I love mac blushes and 9 times out 10 I reach for my pro palette in the mornings.
Which such a variety of colours there is something for everyone.

MAC powder blushes are priced £17.50 and are available online or in store.

Glossybox June 2012

Thursday, 12 July 2012

I'm a little slow of the mark in posting this, but what the heck!

So this is my June Glossybox.

Contents:
Dermablend Starter Kit
BM beauty Mineral bronzer
Me Me Me Nail polish
Caudalie perfume
Glossybox Brush

This month I felt the box was a little "empty".
However I'm keen to try the Dermablend (as i hate my freckles).
Nail polish - you can never go wrong, plus I actually like the colour
BM bronzer, will be handy when traveling.
The brush..that will be going in my pile of about 50 brushes
and the Caudalie perfume has to be my favourite item this month.

As a brand I really like the Caudalie products, the fragrance isn't something I would of picked but it's nice and fresh and i love the size. Perfect to pop in your handbag, or for traveling with.

I saw that some people got HD brow tweezers in their box, and i'm a little sad I never got a pair, but you win some you loose some.

Overall i'm happy with the box. However I feel we only really got 4 products this month as I don't count the brush as a product.

Where you happy with your Glossybox?

Glossybox is priced £10 per month + £2.95 p&p

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub

Saturday, 30 June 2012

Once or twice a week I like to give my lips a good exfoliate. To keep dry lips under control with all this air con at the moment and to keep them looking plump.

I had a friend pick this up for me on her recent trip to London. I picked it straight off the website so I wasn't too sure what to except.

This stuff is amazing. Not only is it edible, it really does work wonders. My lips look so plump after using this stuff, I can't get enough of it at the moment.

Bubblegum lip scrub comes in a small 25g jar, as per the name its bubblegum scented/flavour.

I simply just pop a little bit on my finger and massage in circular motions on and around my lips.
Next you can either lick it off, but I prefer to wash my off.
Voila! super soft and plump lips.

This cost £4.95 and is available in store or online - here

Clinique Chubby - Whole Lotta Honey

Tuesday, 26 June 2012

(Chubby stick appears a lot darker in the 2nd photo for some reason, the 1st is more true.)

Since the Clinique Chubby sticks came out a while ago I've been dying to try them out.
Lucky for me my friend called at duty free and asked if I wanted anything? I couldn't say no.

So I got Whole Lotta Honey, there is a few other shades I want to try but I thought this was a safe bet.

Whole lotta honey is a browny-pink lip colour, yet still neutral.
It glides on like an extremely moisturising lipsticks and leaves your lips soft.

The pigmentation i'd give a 7/10, but I wouldn't expect it to be a full colour as Clinique do describe it as a lip balm.
It gives just the right amount of colour without making you too made up.

Overall I'm loving the chubby sticks, I think my next on will be Whoopin' Watermelon!

I bought this from Duty free for £13.50, but it's available online from Boots.com for £15

Nars Turkish Delight Lipgloss Review

Sunday, 24 June 2012

NARS Turkish delight is well known to be Kim Kardashians favourite lipgloss, so it can't be all bad, right?

Packaging:
The packaging is what you could expect from a higher end brands.
I personally love plain black packaging (similar to MAC).
The lipgloss itself comes in a frosted plastic tube, with a doe foot applicator.

Colour:
Turkish delight a lovely marshmallow pink colour.
3/10 for pigmentation, but I expect this from a lipgloss.
It isn't overly glossy the finish but gives a lovely muted finish to the lips.

Formula:
Light weight and creamy without being sticky

Wearability:
Like most lipglosses this won't stay put all day so you'll need to pop it in your handbag.
Expect to to top up every hour or so to keep looking you best.

Price:
£17.50
Available from all NARS cosmetic counters or their online store - here

Guerlain Parure Extreme - beige clair 02 Review

Tuesday, 5 June 2012

I have been looking for my perfect foundation for a long time, I've tried everything from MAC to E.L.F and everything else in between.

I mean how difficult is it to find a matte foundation with a full coverage? Nothing I've tried in the past quite covers everything up.
They say you shouldn't change what you have, but I don't like my freckles! People without them think they are "cute", but i'm in my mid twenties, I don't want to look "cute"! I could go on about this forever but long story short...I don't like my freckle face!

Anyway, a few weeks ago I went shopping and gave in and asked a shop assistant for a recommendation.  She suggested I try this new amazing "Guerlain Parure Extreme", it's matte/waterproof/full coverage and even makes your bed in the morning!

Sounds like a dream right? Until she told me it was 50 Euros!
At this point I was in the awkward position of sounding cheap and asked if she maybe had something a little less expensive (which there wasn't of course!). But I was just deflated, and gave in.

I haven't used anything from the Guerlain brand before, but had heard good things and the colour was a pretty good match.

I've been using this foundation everyday for almost 3 weeks now, and I do actually love it. I'm now glad I bought it.

Formula & coverage
The formula is really light weight yet gives loads of coverage. 1 pump (as above) covers the whole of my freckle face so this bottle will really last a long time. It's not camouflage, but you can barely notice my freckles now. (Also contains SPF 25)

Finish
It has a lovely matte finish, leaving me looking healthy and glowing.

Durability
After 10 hours in office and lots of face rubbing from excel stress, I don't look as good as I did when I left the house, but not far from it. I'd be happy to go out straight from work with a little blusher touch up!

Price
£35/ 49 is expensive for a foundation in my eyes, but if you're looking for that all singing all dancing, I'd at least recommend trying it out.

So how does it actually look? Well here you go:

Guerlain Parure Liquid Extreme is available online from Echemist.co.uk (Free worldwide delivery)

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils - swatches

Sunday, 27 May 2012

A few posts ago I talked about the NYX Jumbo eye pencils that i'd bought, and the one thing I was a little frustrated with was the £5 postage when i'd bought two items at £5 each. A few days later fellow Malta blogger Rhi tweeted about her amazing NYX pencil ebay find, for only £2.23 per pencil and only $4.30 (£2.75 approx) shipping! What a bargain, I couldn't resist and ordered another 7! Which worked out at around £20 and i'd paid £15 for 2 previously!

Left to Right
Milk / Gold / French Fries / Purple/ Rust / Pots & Pans / Black Bean

The colours are so highly pigmented and glide on like a dream. I can't get enough of them at the minute. I love how they are so easy to blend as well.  I aim to get the whole set, and at £2.23 why not!

All colours are available from this seller on ebay priced £2.23 + £2.75 shipping( each additional item is only around 30p/40p delivery). My delivery took around 1 week to Malta from the US - which in my experience is really fast!

Have you tried the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils yet? What's your favourite colour?

Bourjois Volume Clubbing Mascara - Ultra Black

Thursday, 24 May 2012

I have still yet to find my Holy Grail of mascaras - there is some I really like (MAC lash zoom), but I rarely repurchase, maybe my expectations are too high.
I want lashes like the girl in the advert!!

Anyway on my adventures to find my perfect Mascara I picked up Bourjois Volume Clubbing Mascara. Not that I'm a die hard raver, but I liked the sound of "Ultra Black" and "Intense".

Anyway here is how it looks:

I find it can be a little clumpy, but nothing that can't be sorted with a little brush through,
but it does thicken and lengthens and has been my go to mascara since I've started using it.

Colour: 10/10 (Ultra black!)
Packaging: 8/10 (Graphics a little cheesey)
Durability: 9/10 (It last All day + no panda eyes)
Formula: 8/10

Available from : Superdrug £7.99 or Ebay £6.45

Ebay Fashion Dupes

Saturday, 19 May 2012

Living on a little island it's difficult to find certain items, but with some searching high and low you can almost find what you want or something similar. Then comes the cost. So I decided to put together  some of my recent Dupe finds from ebay. (All these sellers ship to the Uk & to Malta).

1. AA Disco pants dupe £16.99 - link / Rhi from Othersideofcool also found a good dupe from Zara (see post)
2. Jeffery Campbell Dupes : £32.99 - link
3. Peter Pan collar £ 4.45 - link
4. Zara Shopper bag Dupe: £15.99 -link

I've already ordered the Shopped bag, and I really want the JC Lita dupes, but I'm already really tall, but I do love love love them!

What's your favourite dupe, send me the links I'd love to see.

Barry M Lip Paint - Baby Pink (Shade 100)

I picked up Barry M Lip Paint in Baby Pink on a whim. I was browsing Asos and just popped in my basket.

Barry M say Baby Pink, I'd say more matte "Barbie Pink"

Normally I don't go for such a shade, and now I remember why!

The packaging is sturdy and it won't get bashed around in your handbag.

The formula is highly pigmented but a little on the drying.

Overall I don't see me wearing this on its own out in public! However I might try and mix it up some glosses or other shades to try and get some use out of it.

Although I have heard good things about the Barry M lip paint, and I'd be keen to try some other shade.

I bought this from Asos for £4.50 or it's also available on ebay for £4.25

What shade would you recommend?

Bioderma Review

Thursday, 17 May 2012

After reading all the hype about Bioderma, I couldn't resist trying it out for myself. "Water" cleaners seem to quickly becoming popular so I decided to test drive it.

Bioderma comes in two type - For Sensitive Skin (pink) and for  Combination or Oily Skin(green). As you can see I bought the Sensitive version, not that I have sensitive skin, but I only learned abut the other type after I bought this.

What it says it does - "Cleanses, removes make-up and soothes".
True to its word, this stuff removes make-up like nobodies business! It is also really gentle, it doesn't have the chemical feel to it, its also fragrance free.

I just squirt some of this on a cotton pad in the evening before bed and i'm make-up free(even waterproof mascara). Previously i'd been using a cleaner and a special eye make up remover, but I now no longer need to.

Bioderma comes in 3 sizes: 100ml / 250ml/ 500ml

Prices range from £5-15

I bought the 250ml from Ebay here
At the time it was a few euros/pounds cheaper. The sellers are obviously catching on to how popular it is (shame on you!)

You can also purchase the 100ml here
Or 500ml here

Would I buy it again? YES
Is it worth the money? 100%

If you have sensitive skin, but looking for something that really takes your make-up off, I would highly recommend trying Bioderma. Or even if you're looking for a new cleaner, this is worth a try.

Revlon Lip butter - Strawberry Shortcake

Saturday, 12 May 2012

These lipsticks were flying off the shelf, so I couldn't resist pulling some strings with one of my family members who works in a large high street store to keep some aside when they came in store and post them out to me!

One of the colours that I got was Strawberry Shortcake - what a delicious name.

True to their name these lipsticks just glide on the lips and are lovely and moisturising.
It is almost a cross between a lipstick and a good lipgloss.

Strawberry Shortcake is lovely girlie pink colour with a gloss finish and a tiny hint of shimmer.
The Revlon Lip Butters also have a hint of vanilla smell to them.

I'm loving everything from the cute packaging to the delicious name.

Priced at £7.99 and available from Boots.com
