Pantene - Nature Fusion

Thursday 25 September 2014

Sometimes when you ‘need to buy shampoo’ we sometimes reach for the cheapest one in the supermarket that’s on offer because they are all the same right? Not always! Buying shampoo from the supermarket or pharmacy doesn’t mean there’s nothing special about it.

So for todays post we’re going to look at a shampoo and condition that you can pick up in your weekly shop that isn’t just any old shampoo and conditioner. And you’ve probably guessed by the pictures it’s Pantene, but did you notice it’s the Nature Fusion range, what’s that? Well let me tell you...

Pantene Nature Fusion Shampoo and Conditioner packaging is now made with 45% sugarcane-derived plastic which means 45% less petroleum based plastic is used in the packaging. The sustainable packaging will be virtually unnoticeable to the consumers, but the end result is the same performance and price. Why? The plant based bottle is just the first steps Pantene are taking toward becoming eco-friendly. Clean, soft, swishy hair and helping the environment! Win- win!

Now that all sounds great but does it work?

The Shampoo is clear and lathers nicely in the hair. The conditioner has a slight lime tinge to it and soaks easily into the hair, leaving it soft and shiny and easily manageable after rinsing.

After using this product for a few weeks my hair was healthy looking, evening after styling with heat tools. So next time you ‘need to buy shampoo’, remember to check out the Pantene nature fusion range.

Pantene Nature Fusion €5.95* each

Patene is available at various outlets around Malta and Gozo, for more information visit VJ Salomone

Beauty boxes aren’t something new, but a beauty box that ships intentionally is something pretty new an exciting. For the first time the people of Malta can enjoy a monthly beauty box.

Here is a look at LookFantastics first ever beauty box, which was the September edition. For €19.05 you receive a surprise package with a selection of beauty products to try. However the products are worth much more than that (Lookfantastic also offer free shipping - bonus!).

Sleep This Works - Deep Sleep Pillow Spray - 5ml
Jurlique Herbal Recovery Advanced Serum- 15ml
Kerastase Shampoo - 80ml
Keasrase Conditioner - 75ml
St. Tropez Bronzing Mouse - 50ml
Caudalie Devine Oil -15ml

The great thing about this box is that these are all deluxe sample sizes so you can try the products out and find new ones you love before buying the full size version. They are handy for traveling too.

Overall I was happy with the box, there was some products in there I’ve been wanting to try but was unsure of purchasing the full size ones. I’ve already placed my order for the October box (it’s already sold out). So if you want to get your hand on the November box be sure to like BeautySheWrote on Facebook as I’ll post when it’s available.

Did you order the LF Beauty box - what did you think?

Yves Saint Laurent Forever Youth Liberator Eye Serum

Sunday 21 September 2014

The Yves Saint Laurent Forever Youth Liberator serum for the face is hailed as the 'holy grail' of anti-aging, but if you didn't know there is also an eye cream available designed specifically to target the eye area - under eye wrinkles, crows feet and frown lines. The Forever Youth Liberator serum contains a Glycanatif complex which helps to stimulate the skin’s ability to produce collagen allowing your skin to look more youthful.

The serum applies easily around the eye area and soaks into the skin immediately, hydrating the area. Upon first application I felt a slight tingling sensation which i presume means it's doing something! I've been using this for around a week (a little goes a long way) and my under eye area feels firmer. I'm lucky enough not to have any wrinkles at the moments so I can't comment on how it reduces wrinkles, but I have noticed my under eye area has also brightened up slightly.

If you are looking to try a serious eye cream, where you see results I would recommend checking out he YSL - Forever youth liberator eye serum.

[EVENT] Pronails - Launch of Protect and Peel

Friday 12 September 2014

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the launch of SoPolish Protect and Peel by ProNails. If you haven’t heard of ProNails I’m sure you will have seen their nail bar in the Point Shopping centre in Sliema.

While I don’t normally wear gel/gelish on my nails, this new concept is something I’m excited about.  The new system is a similar concept to gel polish except an additional ‘skin’ is added between your natural nail and the polish so that there is no damage to your own nail what so ever.

Just like gel polish your manicure will also last 2 weeks, but the added bonus of the new system is there is virtually no time or tools need to remove the polish. It simply just peels off. However don’t be fooled into thinking your manicure is just going to fall off without trying - you’ll need to pick at first to get a corner before peeling off.

The great thing about this, is it’s perfect for people who have jobs that aren’t allowed to wear polish but still love a perfect mani from time to time. You simple get your nails done as normal and peel it off when you have to go to work. Great for occasions such as birthdays and other celebrations. This new concept is also a great idea for people who are concerned about their natural nail.

So if you’re looking for the results of gel polish without damaging your natural nails, be sure to ask your manicurist about ProNails - SoPolish or visit the ProNails Nail Bar in Sliema.
