NYX make up bag

Monday, 30 July 2012

Back in May I did a post about the NYX jumbo eye pencils I got, but I didn't have somewhere nice to keep them altogether and didn't want them sitting out (my dressing table is crowded as it is!), so when I spotted this little NYX bag on Ebay for only £2.54, I knew it was the perfect thing to keep all my Jumbo pencils neat and tidy.

It's actually the perfect size to keep your daily make up in your handbag as well and I'm thinking about getting another. I travel quite a bit back to the UK and with work and haven't found the right thing to store all my make up in yet, but this would be perfect for my hand luggage.

I recently read a blog post about skin care on long haul flights, using masks and creams to help the journey go faster(and stay hydrated of course). What a great idea huh? I don't have any long haul flights booked, but i'm sure i could manage a mini facial on my up coming 3 hour flight to the uk. But I'll do another post of this later.

This NYX bag is available from Ebay priced £2.54(+p&p)

MAC Blush - Desert Rose

Tuesday, 24 July 2012

So a few weeks ago my other half was in the UK and I got a phone call "I'm in the MAC shop...what do you want?"....as sweet as this is, it sent me into a panic. The first thing that came to mind was a blush because I have 5 in my pro blush palette and have been waiting for ages for a 6th. "Eerrrr can I have a blusher please?"....."What colour the sales assistant is front of me"....I frantically went onto the website to find a shade I like, quickly googling swatches it was almost like I could hear a clock ticking.

So in the end I picked "Desert Rose"

Desert rose is a matte finish, dark rose powder blush.
It goes on smoothly and blends easily into the skin, it is also easy to build up it needed, but the colour is nicely pigmented already you probably won't need to.

I love mac blushes and 9 times out 10 I reach for my pro palette in the mornings.
Which such a variety of colours there is something for everyone.

MAC powder blushes are priced £17.50 and are available online or in store.

What's your favourite shade?

NYX Mega Shine lip gloss - Beige

Monday, 23 July 2012

NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in shade "Beige", is anything but beige.
It's more of a dark rose colour in the tube, and a lovely soft rose colour on the lips.

So I seem to have an addiction to NYX products at the moment, since I can't get them here in Malta I just seem to want them even more. That's where trusty Ebay comes in.

The formula is light weight and non sticky.
One of my favourite things about these mega shine lip glosses is the smell - they smell like bubble gum!

"Beige" is available from Ebay priced £3.51 - here

I do recommend buy a few a one time to keep your shipping costs down but at this price - why not?

I'm on the look out for more shades now so would love to hear your favourite?

NYX mega shine lip gloss - Crystal Soda

Sunday, 22 July 2012

I have a new found love for ebay to get items that I can't easily get delivered or buy in Malta. One of those brands is NYX. I've previously tried their Jumbo eye pencils which i loved, and I was keen to try some of their lip glosses that I hear everyone raving about, so back to ebay I went.

I ordered Crystal Soda from the same seller where i bought my Jumbo eye pencils, but I was upset to find she no longer has ANYTHING in her shop at the moment. But I have found an equally great seller here. And I found Crystal Sode available here for only £3.51! Bargain.

Crystal Soda is a champaign/peach colour which sits almost transparent on the lips, giving then just a hint of colour.

The formula is light and non-sticky and the smell! omg the smell is delicious!
It smells like candy and bubble gum, if it was edible I would eat it!

This colour is perfect If you want to finish off a look for during the day, when you want something on your lips but nothing too in your face.

As mentioned, you can buy this from Ebay priced £3.51 - here

Have you tried the NYX mega shine glosses? What's your favourite colour?

NOTD - Cheeky chops

Cheeky Chops (i love the name as much as the colour) by No7
is a pinky/coral colour.

It's such a lovely girlie summery colour it may be my favourite polish in my collection.

I really like No7 nail polish, I love the formula and bottles, it makes it so easy to apply.

Cheeky Chops is available from Boots in store or online priced £7

Dermalogica renewal lip complex - Review

Friday, 20 July 2012

I received a sample of the Dermalogic AGE smart renewal lip complex a few months ago in my Glossybox, and I was hooked straight away. After I'd used up my sample this has been on my wish list for a while. Almost £20 for lip care is quite steep. But I love the product so much I couldn't resist.

I purchased the full size (1.75ml) from LookFantastic.com for £19.95 (RRP £23.00)

You use it twice a day (morning and night - more if needed), just apply like a normal lip balm.
The product come in a tube which you twist to make some come out the holes at the top.

The product desciption says:-
Vitamin E fights damaging free radicals (Reactive Oxygen Species) while a moisturising blend of avocado oil, combined with shea and cocoa seed butters, quickly smoothes rough, uneven lips.

I couldn't of described it better myself! The renewal lip complex is so moisturising and hydrating, my lips instantly feel amazing after I've applied it.

I guess this is targeted for more mature skin, but nothing like starting early right?

If you're looking for an amazing hydrating lip product, i'd 100% recommend this.
Team this with a good lip scrub and you'll have the most kissable lips in town!

Maybelline Popstick - Pink Lollipop review

Thursday, 19 July 2012

I'd heard some good and some bad things about the Maybelline Popsticks and as a true make-up junkie I had to try them out for myself.

So I picked up this Popstick in the shade "Pink lollipop" while on a Boots binge.
And I have to say I absolutely love it!
While the colour isn't highly pigmented like people say, I can't expect it to be when the bullet is see-through.

Pink lollipop after a few coats gives this lovely pink colour, just a lovely boost to your natural colour.
However I'd say popsticks are more like tinted lip balms than actual lipstick.

I find it to be extremely moisturising and have been keeping it on my desk at work and reapplying through out the day to keep my lips soft (and kissable!)

I'm really glad I tried this product and I'm keen to try more colours.

I bought mine online from Boots.com, but it no longer seems to be online.
I'm sure you'll be able to pick these up in store though.

What do you think of the popsticks?

Glossybox June 2012

Thursday, 12 July 2012

I'm a little slow of the mark in posting this, but what the heck!

So this is my June Glossybox.

Contents:
Dermablend Starter Kit
BM beauty Mineral bronzer
Me Me Me Nail polish
Caudalie perfume
Glossybox Brush

This month I felt the box was a little "empty".
However I'm keen to try the Dermablend (as i hate my freckles).
Nail polish - you can never go wrong, plus I actually like the colour
BM bronzer, will be handy when traveling.
The brush..that will be going in my pile of about 50 brushes
and the Caudalie perfume has to be my favourite item this month.

As a brand I really like the Caudalie products, the fragrance isn't something I would of picked but it's nice and fresh and i love the size. Perfect to pop in your handbag, or for traveling with.

I saw that some people got HD brow tweezers in their box, and i'm a little sad I never got a pair, but you win some you loose some.

Overall i'm happy with the box. However I feel we only really got 4 products this month as I don't count the brush as a product.

Where you happy with your Glossybox?

Glossybox is priced £10 per month + £2.95 p&p

17 Lip Stain - Berry Crush review

Wednesday, 11 July 2012

17 Lip Stain is a doubled ended lip pen. One side contains a moisturising lip balm and the other - a lip stain, which is dispensed via a felt tip.

I generally quite likes stains as a beauty product so I thought I would give this one a try.

I'm not quite sure what to make of this product, on one side i like the moisturising lip balm, but on the other - using the stain makes me feel like i'm drawing on my lips with a permanent marker!

The colour is a deep pink, and It came out a little patchy on my lips, even with the balm the colour seemed the stick more in certain areas that others.

Overall I'm a little underwhelmed with this product. The part the really lets it down is the applicator of the stain, it's just so hard, it really does feel like a felt tip pen. Even though the colour does last, I couldn't image applying this in public.

I'd give this product 2/5

Have you tried the 17 lip stain?

17 Instant Glow Shimmer Brick - Gold Bronze

Tuesday, 10 July 2012

I picked this up with some other pieces. I'm not sure if i love the 17 brand or not, but theres something about it, that I always without fail buy something from it every time i get a chance to go.

Anyway I picked up the Instant Glow Shimmer Brick in Gold Bronze.

As you can see from the swatches the colours are rather well pigmented except for the 3rd colour for some reason. All the shades have a pearlescent finish to them, that isn't picked up well by the camera.

When mixed all together the colour because a light metallic bronze colour

Personally I prefer my bronzer to be matte, however these will be some nice highlighting colours.

The packaging is nice, sturdy and sleek and perfect to pop in your handbag for a top up throughout the day

The price was £4.99 which is reasonable. (available in store and online at Boots)

Round up:
Overall I'd live this product 3/5.

The colours are nice, and it's better suited for highlighting rather than contouring as a bronzer
(unless you're the tin man).
I'd even think about trying some of these colours on my eyes?
Maybe I had the wrong expectations of the product. However I won't go to waste.

What's your favourite bronzer?

For a while I've been looking for an acrylic lipstick holder and finally found one at a reasonable price on Ebay(here).( you got to love ebay!)
