Clarisonic Aria - first impressions

Sunday, 27 April 2014

When the Clarisonic Mia came out, it was the must have skin care product. Well the guys have upped their game and introduced the - Clarisonic Aria. What’s the difference I hear you ask, well let me give you the low down:

Clarisonic Mia:

  • 1 Speed
  • Battery life - 20 Mins
  • 1 year warranty
Clarisonic Aria:
  • 3 Speeds
  • Battery life - up to 28 uses*
  • 2 year warranty
  • Pack also includes: USB charger, Drying stand and wall adapter
The Clarisonic Aria, is basically just like the Mia (I & II) but slightly better with varying speeds and a handy charger and drying stand.

The Aria is my first experience of Clarisonic and I couldn’t wait to try it out. I’ve been using this for over 2 weeks now, and wanted to give you guys my first impressions and then follow up with a full review after i’ve been using for longer.

First thing you do when you get your Clarisonic is charge it for a full 24 hrs. Which can be frustrating as I just wanted to use it straight away, but everything needs charged right!? So upon my first night of using the Clarisonic, I removed my eye make up as normal, wet my face and brush head with warm water, applied some of the refreshing gel cleanser (that comes in the kit), turned it on and got to work.

You can start where you wish, but it’s recommend - 20 seconds on the forehead, 20 seconds on the nose and chin and 10 seconds on each cheek. The device beeps and pauses between zones so you don’t need to count.

After my first use, I felt the difference straight away, my exact words were (as cheesy as it is..) “wow!”. My skin felt soooo soft and clean (The Clarisonic cleans 5 times more than normal), after that I was hooked and have been using it every night since. I actually stopped using it for a few days while I was traveling (I wanted to save as much weight as possible for bringing goodies home!) and actually missed it. The first thing I did when I got home from traveling was put my bags down, changed into my pyjamas and cleaned my face with my Clarisonic!

So in short, so far I absolutely love the Clarisonic Aria. I don’t know how I lived without it before. I was always in two minds about getting one because of the price and worried it was just a fad. But I can confirm - it really is amazing as they say. If you were thinking about getting one, I would highly recommend it! I will report back in a few weeks to update you on my progress.

EOS Lip Balm Pomegranate

EOS Lip Balm - £5.99 - Selfridges or Ebay

While I was in the States a few months ago, one of the beauty items I had on my ‘must buy’ list was an EOS Lip Balm. I ended up picking up the pomegranate one, however I’m now wishing I’d got a few of them. I’ve been using this day and night for the last few months and I’ve barely made a dent in the product (except for the dent when I dropped it balm first on the tiles!!)

EOS balms come in different flavours/smells, but for me I don’t really notice much of a difference between the products except for the colour of the packaging -  but I’ve only quickly compared mine to a friends, so I could be wrong. Talking of packaging - they really do have some of the prettiest colours! The balm it’s self is solid and you apply like every other like balm (just rub it on your lips...).

The balm applies nicely, and doesn’t dry out my lips and keeps them hydrated throughout the day. Best part is they are 100% natural ingredients and included a SPF15! If you are looking for a new lip balm, or an excuse to buy one - be sure to try out EOS, they hype is really worth it.

Available from Selfridges and Ebay

Benefit Rochateur Blush

Tuesday, 1 April 2014

A few weeks ago my other half had a boys trip to Spain to watch some football, and I felt it was only right I got a present for being a football widow for the weekend! Lucky for me there was a Sephora near their hotel, so with the help of google maps he managed to go and pick me up this little beauty - the new Benefit Rochateur Blush.

Rochateur is still rose gold coloured blush, I've heard a lot of people rave about this blush and I have to admit I have been wearing it almost every day since I got it. The texture is so light and velvety, it applies like a dream and has a satin finish. The blush is also easy to build up if you are looking for a more intense look, but personally I prefer it applied lightly.

Rockatuer wears well and lasts me the full working day, it's a great everyday shade and is very wearable. I probably wouldn't recommend this for the evening as I feel the colour wouldn't show as well in the dark. The colour is great for spring/summer giving you a sun kissed look to your cheeks.

Have you tried Rockateur - What did you think?
