Introducing StylistPick VIP

Sunday 25 March 2012

Personally I'm a fan of stylistpick.com, (see previous post) especially since they've started shipping internationally (yay), but I received an e-mail from them a few days ago to tell me I'm now a VIP. As you can imagine I was intrigued...

Basically now when you sign up you have two options. PAYG or VIP.

Pay as you go doesn't tie you into any monthly subscription as before, and it costs £3.50 for shipping (£5 international). + 25% off your first order.

Now the VIP subscription, in theory you're "tied" into a monthly subscription..BUT if you "skip this month" in your account section between the 1st and the 5th of the month..you don't get charged. So similar to the PAYG plan...you just need to skip the month if you're low on cash or you don't like anything. But here's the best part. With the VIP subscription you also get:

  • 25% off your first order
  • Free next day UK delivery
  • Free gift with every order
  • Invites to VIP events
  • Every 5th item FREE!

How amazing is that!! I've not ordered anything for a few months...recovering from Christmas and birthdays etc, but I will be ordering something at the end of the month. I can't say no to Free shoes and a free gift, especially now since they ship to Malta!

The women in me Event

Saturday 10 March 2012

To celebrate International Womens day, I headed over to the Meridien Hotel in St.Julians on Thursday evening for "The Women In Me" Event.

There were loads of stalls set up selling everything from diet aids to nail polish. Heaven! Not to mention there were plenty of talks to attend as well including; eating well, jewellery in fashion and everyday makeup. It was hard not to walk away empty handed and I even had time to sit down and watch some live draping by Jesmond.

My two favourite stands had to be the NSI nail stand and the Cruelty Free Malta stand. I picked up some gluten free cookies (delicious) from the Cruelty free stand, which also had a massive range of cosmetics and beauty product. I also got some Spa Ritual polish in "Quiet Storm" a nice candy lilac colour, although I did want to buy every colour they had..and everything else on their stand. (Also vegan and cruelty free)

From the other stands I picked up some samples to take away with me:

L-R
Top Row:
Alkagin - These a femmanin hygiene products. There is gel, cleanser and talk samples here however they also offer wipes.
FreeVEN - This is a gel designed for spider veins & varicose veins. However it's a cooling minty gel that also soothes tired and heavy legs. I'm excited to try this one out.
Palmers: Skin therapy oil, firming lotion, firming butter, and olive butter. Palmers is a brand I've seen many of times although i've never tried their products so i'm look forward to trying these out.
Everyday: A sanitary towel sample

Bottom row:
1) This is a small purse from Morgan, I got this in my goodie bag as I walked in the door :)
Bio 3: Weight Control tea, Diet solution, Energy soloution, antiox + solution, fiber with fruits and menopause solution (won't be needing that just yet)
Pom Pon: Eyes and face wipes.

So it's going to be busy few weeks for me testing out all these products. If your interested in hearing more about any of them just let me know.

Overall I had a great time at the event, and I hope there will be another one soon because I got to find out  about a lot of products I didn't know existed in Malta and can't wait to buy more things. Well done to the girl at The women in me for organising it.

Did you attend?

New Shoes

Friday 9 March 2012

First of all I'd to apologise for the bad photos. My camera battery ran out a few days ago then I realised I'd left my charger in the UK from Christmas time! doh. I have someone bringing it over for me soon but it's still about two weeks away, so unfortunately you'll need to bare with me for now.

Anyway back to shoooooes!

I went into town last weekend and was browsing around topshop and spotted these babys

And in the sale too! Down from 78 Euros to 22 Euros...I couldn't really say no. The heels on these aren't too high and they are super comfy(yay), so I was pleased with my purchase.

I have a "thing" with shoes. In fact I probably hoard shoes I have so so many.(100+) Many still in boxes or with stickers on. But I can't walk away from a bargain pair of shoes.

Maybe one day I'll do a shoe collection post?...I love having a nosey a other peoples shoe collections anyway.

Have you bought any bargains lately?

Mac Haul

Tuesday 6 March 2012

Last week my boyfriend had to go away for work for a few days to Spain, and lucky for me he didn't come back empty handed! He knows MAC is always a fool proof present so he usually heads there to pick up me something.

Lipstick - Hug Me

Blush - Dollymix

Eyeshadow - All that Glitters

As you can imagine I was over joyed with my presents, although I did pack him off with some "hints".

I love the Hug me lipstick, is so neutral it's perfect when you want something but nothing too much. The blush I think is a classic. At first the deep barbie pink looks a little off putting but as you can see on the skin it's really sheer. And last but not least the eyeshadow is a neutral colour with hints of gold. It's nothing too dramatic but I like it.

Colorsport 30 Day Mascara Review

Sunday 4 March 2012

I bought some Colorsport 30 day mascara from Feelunique.com last Saturday, and it arrived in Malta in Wednesday, so I was really impressed with the delivery time!

Here's some photo's

This couldn't of been easier to use. Clean your face, put some Vaseline around your browns and eyes so the dye doesn't get on the skin, mix some dye cream and developer together and pop it on.

The only thing I didn't like was the the small stick they give you to mix the solution with (also used for application) didn't work so great for mixing let alone the application. I ended up using a cotton bud which worked perfectly.

Wait 10 minutes and rise off with warm water.

Before

After

My lashes already had some colour on them, but the ends were really light. Although you can still notice the difference. Even my eyebrows look fuller.

The product claims to last 30 days, and has enough for up to 16 applications.

Round-up:
Price: 10/10 (€9.36 / £7.49 - Less then €1/£1 per application. Approx €20/£20 in a salon )
Shipping cots : 10/10 (Free)
Easy of use: 9/10 (Only because of the stick)

Overall: 10/10. Considering this product will save me around €320 in having my eyelashes/eyebrows dyed...I will be buying this again when I run out.

I bought this from Feelunique.com

Have you tried this product? Do you love dark lashes 24/7 too?

Glossybox has teamed up with Harrods

Thursday 1 March 2012

Whether you're in the UK or not, I'm sure you've heard about Glossybox, well I've just read that the March edition they will be teaming up with Harrods!

I am so intrigued to see what's in this box. I've been a loyal subscriber for over 6 months (I either have the boxes posted to Malta from family or pick them up when I'm back), and I've yet to be disappointed. I've heard people complain they didn't like some of their boxes, but there has never been a box under the value of £10..which is the price. But you can't please everyone.

Anyway, just thought i'd let you know. I for one am very excited about this box. I've even ordered one to be sent to my mum as part of Mothers Day. I think it's something she'll enjoy....and I am desperate to see what's in it.

Order yours today : www.glossybox.co.uk  (£10 + £2.95 p&p)

P.s Not to spoil the surprise, but I've heard rumours of products such as YSL and Molton Brown to name a few...
