How to de-pot MAC eyeshadow or blusher - step by step.

Saturday 25 February 2012

Since I've recently bought pro-palettes, I'd thought i'd share with you, how to de-pot the products you already have. I hope you find it useful :)
-----------------------------------

You'll need:

An old towel to put down so you don't make a mess
A pair of hair straighteners
An old tea towel or wax paper
Your pro palette and eyeshadows
Something pointed - knife/screwdriver/tweezers (I'm using a jewellery making tool here)

Step one:

Use your pointed tool to separate the pan holder from the packaging. You'll find the line where the lid closes (As below)

Your eyeshadow or blusher should now look like this:

Step 2:

Wrap our old tea towel or wax paper around the bottom plate of the hair straightens. Place the eyeshadows on top (like below) and turn on your straighteners.

Step 3:

After 5-10 minutes the bottom of the eyeshadows should look like this:

Notice the small hole in the middle?

Gently push your sharp tool through the hole and the pan will separate from the packaging like this:

*WARNING* - metal pan will be HOT. Do not touch.

Step 4:

Leave the pans to cool for a few minutes, then pop them in your Pro Palette and that's you done!

Enjoy!

  2. This method works like a charm! I just de-potted my MAC eyeshadows a few weeks ago because, I had ordered the PRO palette. It is so much more convenient for me to store my eyeshadows in the palette, now. Great for traveling :)

  3. Thanks for the comments girls :)

Alina, I know what you mean, it is so handy for travel, not to mention the space it saves in my makeup bag as well. I can't wait to fill my first palette :) xx
